I am a certified Breathwork and Meditation practitioner, based in Auckland, Aotearoa.
Breathwork is essentially just using your breath in a particular manner or technique to induce different physical and emotional states. It encourages dopamine and serotonin production, boosts your immune system and assists in building a more robust nervous system in an ever changing environment!
A lot of what you see online around breathwork, is intense emotional release of trauma and big emotions, which is definitely part of it. But this can also be a bit scary if you don’t understand why this is happening or you’ve never experienced it before! Majority of the time breathwork can be extremely energising, peaceful, grounding, calming and can ease stress and anxiety. Plus it will leave you feeling incredible!
Breathwork is a somatic healing modality, working with your breath and the energy in your body. Using the conscious connected breathing pattern, we can use something that we do everyday, (breathing) to tap into our subconscious mind, release stagnant energy, stuck emotions or habits, and let go of whatever is no longer serving us.
